Hobos Lullaby: (a song that Lewdite taught me to love. 3 of 4)
This is the third of four songs that I would like to dedicate to Lewdite. Why? This is the first song where I found I could do a chord progression. I had four chords to play with, the A, D, C and G. I was listening to a radio program about the blues, the artist was Howlin Wolfe, I think, not sure, anyway he said that it doesnt matter which of the lower three strings that you pick, it will sound okay as long as you have the rhythm, and that it was very rare, that before recordings a blues artist would be playing a song the same way twice, because its the feel and mood of the song at the time of playing.
I strummed a D chord a few times until I felt that a change was needed, this was on the word hobo; I changed to a G chord. I played the G chord a few times until I felt that a change was needed, this was on the word by and so I changed to an A chord, then back to the D chord. It worked; the rhythm should be that of a train. I use this technique for most of the songs that I have uploaded to YouTube. I might not get the correct chords, but this stops me being downhearted when my fingers cannot produce the proper chords.
