How do i make my seven week old baby boy assosiate some song/lullaby with sleep?

How will he know that he is supposed to sleep when i sing a lullaby

Pick just one special song to sing to him when you’re rocking him to sleep at night. It will take awhile, but eventually he’ll make the association.
You can also put a CD player in his room and play a lullaby CD- turn it on (very low volume) after you’ve put him down for the night.

Sing to him when he’s already sleeping, or while your trying to put him to sleep. But only do it at those times.

Well, since he is only 7 weeks old, I wouldn’t expect any results too soon. My kids actually asked me to quit singing to them because I am not to talented.

Whenever he crys sing to him. I always sung abc’s to my son and he would stop crying just to hear it. I also put him in the bed and played baby einstein cds. The cds are GREAT, it plays classic music which is good for the baby mind. Now that my son is two. When he was learning the alphabet song, he picked up on it quick because of me singing it to him when he was a baby. Sing it very lightly and sing it in his ear when he is crying.

A lot of that comes naturally. As long as what you are singing is kind of rhythmic, quiet, soothing, and calm it should help him fall asleep. The biggest reasons lullabies work is because of the rhythm of language, the light inflections of the notes, and the quiet tone they’re sung with. Words really don’t matter.

The rest just comes from repetition. You can’t force him to make the association. You just repeat it so that he can start to understand the connection.

through repetition. sing this to him in a quiet room, maybe while rocking or with him in his crib rubbing his back, or however you want to help him relax . every single night do the same thing, but do not do it for naps, only at bedtime and eventually, he will know.

I have a Son that will be 7 weeks on Sat. what I have done since the day he came home from the hospital is put him in his crib with the Ocean Wonder Lullaby aquarium. (Fisher Price) It sings several different lullabies and he loves it. I sing to him as well and it sends him right to sleep. My Son has been in his own crib since he was 4 days old, so I play the music for him only at night, and he seems to go right to sleep, you might want to try that, you can sing with it as well, I rock him while playing the music and he seems to love it.
