Coney Island Baby, also known as Goodbye My Coney Island Baby, the barbershop classic sung as a one man a cappella multitrack by Julien Neel (trudbol).

“Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby” is a popular barbershop classic song composed in 1924 by Les Applegate. It is often included in the repertoire of a barbershop quartet. The lyrics are not related to Coney Island directly, but are about a man abandoning his love (whom he apparently met at Coney Island) to avoid marriage, the drudgery of which is lamented in the middle section, often known separately as “We All Fall”.

The song was featured in the Simpson’s episode “Homer’s Barbershop Quartet”, along with the other classic, “Baby On Board” (in episode #82, from season 5 episode 1, first aired on September 30th 1993). The songs were partially sang by Disneyland’s “The Dapper Dans”, although the series’ normal voice actors can be heard every now and then.

Coney Island is a peninsula, formerly an island, in southernmost Brooklyn, New York City, USA, with a beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The area was a major resort and site of amusement parks that reached its peak in the early 20th century. It declined in popularity after World War II and endured years of neglect.

I worked really hard on this video. I recorded the music portion in a bathroom (the acoustics were amazing) then did the visual parts in my room. I know it’s super corny, but hey, corny is good (;

Just know that this was SUPPOSED to be posted on the 3rd! (hehe)

This song is my most recent one. It’s (as you can tell) about a relationship with somebody; one that might not be looked at as able to work. It’s about knowing your feelings for the other person, and knowing how much they feel for you back, but constantly hearing people around you say it’s not right, and you shouldn’t be together. But you realize that it really doesn’t matter what they think, because if you’re happy, then life is good. Haha (:
So, I guess the “point” of this song is to help people relate to this dramatic love-situation. Know that it really doesn’t matter if people are jealous and/or don’t think you should be with the other person, because if you feel it’s right & your heart tells you it is, then it is. You have to listen to your heart, because it knows what’s best for you. (:
